For any newbies out there.. getting into the mix with a contest whether it be an RTTY contest or some other mode, is an excellent way to work DX and some of the more rare zone that you might not see often.  One of the members of the club N3UN has one of the top RTTY standings in the US as far as DXCC goes.  He only needs a few to have em all.  I have worked several zones i asiatic russia that I would have been hard pressed to get otherwise. 



CW and SSb is no different.. they all come out for the big contests.  If the stations I have talked to over the weekend all QSL (I use LOTW) I will go from 109 confirmed to over 125 countries.  Nothing to sneeze at.

Even if you are NOT partiicpating in the RTTY competition this weekend, you owe it to yourself to turn around on 10 meters.   

I am confident you will find the mixture of EU and Asia quite fascinating, and the signal levels are about as good as they get!
