Very good Andy. I would suggest that we all use 146.55 (146.52?) simplex on low power while coordinating meeting at our particular sites. Then call in on the repeater to inform the NCS that we've arrived.

The health dept. is coordinating with the schools so they do know we are coming. I had asked for contact information and they are working on getting a list of names and px to us early next week. A health dept. person will either be there on Saturday to observe with the key to the box, or the school contact will have been given the key in advance.
The idea of these boxes is that they are there ready to go and anyone with a license can show up and use it. I'm structuring this event to mimic that concept.
I've added the latest volunteers to the list, Century has 4 people now. We do still need someone else in the NW to help out Anthony.
In other news I may have a memorial service to attend on that day, not sure of how that's going to work out but there is a possibility it will conflict.

Another question, along the line of the question from Anthony/KB3RJH...
Dec 1st is a Saturday and I assume the schools are closed. How do we gain access to these mystery boxes? Has the health department told these locations that someone would be coming to look these things over on that day and to expect us?
Should we go to the location & introduce ourselves during the week prior to our visiting?
Any information rather then going blind would be helpful. That contact person's contact information as KB3RJH suggested.

Thanks for the responses so far. Here's my 1st cut (if you'd rather be
someplace else speak up and I'll shift things around):
Winter's Mill HS,WX3F,W3JJH
North Carroll MS,NS3X,N3MSP
Parr's Ridge ES,KE3FL,K3RTW
North West Middle,KB3RJH,
Century HS,KB3WAV,KB3VWK
Carroll Community Coll,W8IS,KC8ZUO/KC8ZUP
There is nothing that says we are limited to 2 person teams, that was
just my going in plan so there is opportunity for everyone who wants to
participate. Also someone is going to have a conflict or get sick at the
last minute so if you want to participate please sign up. It could be
really fun read on....
As several have pointed out we don't actually have a parts list for what
is in these kits ... I certainly wasn't the engineering lead on it so a
big part of this exercise is opening the mystery box and figuring out
what we have inside. For all I know they put FT-5000's and Alpha 9100
amps in the kits (that sounds like something a gov't agency would do)
but if that's what's in the box how wold you use it to call in? I think
its a safe bet the radios are factory fresh with no programming so you
may be seeing a new brand of radio and have to figure out how to enter
the correct frequency and offset.
