YOU KNOW THE OTHER THING TO TRY IS A BUDDIPOLE.  THE INVENTOR OF THIS WAS RECENTLY IN THE CARRIBEAN AND I WORKED HIM AND HIS SON SEVERAL TIMES ON DIFFERENT BANDS AND EVERY TIME THEY WERE VERY COPYABLE  STRONG EVEN WHEN HE WAS RUNNING 10W FROM A BATTERY SUPPLY.. 



LOOK IT UP W3FF HAS LINKS FROM HIS QRZ SITE HOW TO BUILD IT OR YOU CAN BUY ONE

sure Pat i am game to try anything ... the ballon things sound cool and 
later this year i am taking the rv up to a lake in MN.  thought the 
deployment of a ballon would be a quick way to get an antenna up.
