I think someone asked this question not long ago and I replied   YES it is called a vertical.. but the proper way to put a sky wire up is with a KITOON  not a balloon

Why not try?   

But  20-ft wide balloon is LARGE with a huge amount 
of lift -- and it will be difficult to control even in light 
breezes.  Can you go down to a 3-ft diameter (aka 
about a 300-400 gram) weather balloon?

Hello Everyone 

ok here is my question can you mount an end feed zep antenna vertically?  Ok 
wild idea from the new ham I was thinking of mounting and endfeed zep to a 
helium balloon and sending it up about 150 feet?  Your thoughts my fellow 
hams?  I think I can get my hands on a 20ft reusable helium balloon.
