[K3PZN-List] Another New Rig

This link at least has some nice pictures - but I suspect you know what it looks like.  If you remember Icom once had a big rig close to $10k .  Tuning around I heard someone discussing it - maybe something like $7k.

Even my humble FT-950 has more knobs than I know what to do with - or use during a contest!  Once a good enough rig is hooked up to N1MM, there is not much for the operator to do but make small adjustments.

While it always cool to operate a different rig (why doesn't someone buy one and bring it to FD!) often the best rig is what you already have.  Cool to see this stuff anyway.  We got the tiny thing from Elecraft (ok the PA is not out yet) and the monster from Kenwood.  I can imagine nothing 'affordable' was introduced at Dayton for the new ham.  Someday someone will introduce a simple box for about $250 that is used with a PC that does SSB and digital modes on 20m with some power output.  Well except no one sees a market of new hams.

Did anyone get information and pricing on the new Kenwood TS-990S?

Jim-

I saw the stacks at the Flex booth last year at Dayton and discussed them
with the Flex rep there.  If you look at the QRPer link in Curt's posting,
photos of the 2012 Flex booth at Dayton show also the Flex-6000s stacked in
a rack.  Obviously, these are for the "alphabet" agencies.
