[K3PZN-List] Follow-up for Field Day

Eric

great to have you jump in with both feet for FD.  your efforts in set-up, tear-down and bring scouts were certainly among the highlights of the full effort.

I wasn't thrilled myself that 'we did not have our act together' when the scouts arrived, they certainly were in their element in participating in mast raising.  Maybe they also saw a demonstration of digital modes which should more readily strike them as being 'high tech.'

math looks pretty simple!  unless trumped by Kerri, let's assume 12 youth contacts.  Kerri herself coached many of these QSO's, which I got to witness a few.

as very few among us like to 'melt solder' - I look forward to supporting you and hopefully colaborating on something.  I am contemplating a homebrew 15m CW rig project.

On the CW, just try to pick up a few characters per week -- learned by sound (not counting dits and dahs) and soon you will be doing it.  I have heard several say we should develop a small CW 'net' to get the less CW savvy doing it.

Of the 8 scouts I brought, I believe 7 made at least a single contact in the trailer with Ray and Kerri.  In addition to that I made about 30and my son made about 5 contacts on 40M.

I told some of the parents of scouts, and one or two of the siblings that were there that they could get on if they wanted, but don't know if they did.

Thanks again for hosting the scouts.  I am getting a lot of feedback that they had a great time.

Mike

Thanks for taking on this admin duty.  Unless the league is very specific in instructions, I suggest we list every ham with a call sign that participated in set-up, tear-down, logistics and/or operating all on this same list.  Best not to split hairs.  ARRL is probably interesting in the number of amateurs participating in FD.

Between Kerri and Eric we should be able to count the number of contacts from our youth visitors +/- 5%.

Yes do give us credit for copying the W1AW bulletin - interesting that we did that on SSB this year, and quite well with Kerri doing the transcription.

I am happy that all those that spent some time with us had some fun. Even those that just stopped by for a visit - thanks.....

I was looking over the score summary sheet and noticed that they need to know the number of operators. I have the list of kids for the youth bonus BUT I also would like a list of everyone that made a contact. If you were just there for setup or teardown then let me know that also.
