Larry
Thanks for providing some sense of order with your nice list. Please alert us when you might be available to operate some HF phone. Wow - you made my day with your words at the bottom, that I finally read.
I will find a phonetic list for new ops to use. Also I will print some 'reminder' crib sheets with Call and Exchange.
I have no info when Mike is heading to the site -- most setup may be done Saturday morning.
Excerpted from your list, with my own comments --
Configuration -- likely 3A -- we will service GOTA ops on our HF stations, and give them priority
Prime Phone station - Ray and Kerri's radio with AB Mast and Tri-band beam (MA5B from Curt)
Prime CW station - will use 40m inverted V (from Curt)
Prime Digital station - Mike's HF station, last I knew
VHF Station - Mike's radio and antenna
Secondary Phone station - Club radio with Pete's windom antenna -- may not be needed?
The GOTA/Secondary station would be the station for any none ham folks that show up at the site (Eric's Scouts). NOTE: A log sheet needs to be set at the GOTA station to log the name of any person operating that station along with the name of the control op. The Secondary part of this station would be available for when any of the prime stations need a break.
The Windom antenna and any other wire antenna can be set up using the Club's AB155 masts. -- this would be our on means of getting on 80m -- station use TBD.
Class A catagory bonus points:
1. 100% Emergency power - generators. Thanks Larry!
2. Media Publicity - Was the Carroll County Times contacted? I suspect no.
3. Public Location - I guess the Gamber grounds is public. Does the Club have a sign to display at street level? Do we have a convenient sign ??
3. Public Information Table - What has the Club for an information table? Good question!
4. Message Origination to Section Manager - Who will send this NTS message? Actually I would enjoy passing the traffic, but I would need help.
5. Satellite QSO - does anyone have the capability to do this?
6. Alternate Power - does anyone have a solar panel that can power a radio for 5 contacts? I have the radios, but I don't know if anyone has a solar panel -- let me ask someone who may be visiting!
7. W1AW Bulletin - need someone to record this. let's try to assign both digital and CW to do this.
8. Educational activity - this would be good for when the Scouts attend the site (Andy?).
9. Visitation by an elected governmental official -- most likely too late for this. Not expected, most years they have not shown.
10. Visitation by a representative of an agency -- wonder if we could get someone from Carroll County Emergency Management?
11. Field Day Youth Participation - 20 points for each youth (under 18) that makes a contact! Wow -- yes let's make sure we log this.
I will test the generators Friday morning. Also, I will bring the AB-115 masts and a tri-band beam. Can anyone meet me at Gamber Friday around 2 PM? We can start site set up.
Fantastic -- I was wondering who would bring these. Make sure you are first in line for dinner, and we will give you second priority for operating rigs (after visiting youth).
73,
Larry WX3F
