Carroll County Amateur Radio Club Meeting August 13, 2012

  Andy Leeds, WO3L, called the meeting to order at 7:36 PM. 13 members  
and 1 guest in attendance.

Committees:
Treasury –
Pete, W3GVX, presented the treasurer's report.
$266 total expenses:
$217 rent Ag Center,
Safe deposit box $47
Income from interest on CD's.
Repeaters –
Replacement antennae ordered and being delivered to Andy.  He is  
floating the cost and expects to be reimbursed.  $2K cost approx.
The opportunity to replace with the county climbers coming available soon.

Old and Unfinished Biz
  1. Purchase of repeater antennae – authorization to spend up to $2K.  
  John, K3KWO, motioned, 2nd by Bill, N3WM. Approved.
  2. Motion from John, K3KWO, to purchase generator.  K3UZ, Buddy,  
offered a 4500 W generator.  Motion fails – purchase not authorized.
  3. Budget – presented by Pete, W3GVX.  Approved.
(a) Donations and gifts are too unpredictable and left at $0.
(b) Bank interest is dwindling.
(c) Club station number is $0 due to the uncertainty of the EOC facility.
(d) Insurance – Pete is shopping around to minimize.  Currently $300  
but Ins. Co. is asking for $500.
(e) Secretary expenses – for stamps, paper, envelopes for mailings or  
other related expenses.
New Biz
None.
Announcements:
  1. Sept. 29th MS Bike-a-thon needs comm support.
(a) Andy will manage sign-ups.  Needs an answer in a week to 10 days.
  2. Dec. 9th Christmas Party estimated.
  3. Sealed bids for the disposal of the trailer and generator to be  
accepted.  Steve and Andy will accept the offers and discuss the  
results of the bids.
  4. Tailgate Fest this Sunday – August 19th.
(a) Set up 5:30 PM on Saturday – Need help!
(b) Food comes at 7:00 AM.
(c) Help on the day of the fest should show before 7:00 AM.
