CARA (the Columbia Amateur Radio Assn, our W3AO Field Day partner club) will have its monthly membership meeting on Tuesday Sept 27 at 7:30 p.m. in Room 401 of the Gateway Building, 6751 Gateway
Drive, Columbia, MD. (a few minutes off I-95).

The scheduled speaker is Damon Penn, FEMA Assistant Administrator of
National Continuity Programs Directorate. 

His office is coordinating the new Emergency Alerting System called
CAP (Common Alerting Protocol) for Broadcasters, Cable, Satellite, and
Cellular / Mobile Device Service providers. Read ahead about this

operations that hams support and train for.
