CCARC Meeting August 8, 2011

  Andy Leeds, WO3L, called the meeting to order at  7:33 PM. 18   
members and 1 guest in attendance.

Additional dinner expenses from Field Day are expected.

Expo Aug. 27th.
Meeting with Jim Weed, County Emergency Manager, August 9th
Repeaters ?
UHF machine seems to be down today.  Fuse blown?  Andy will be  
investigating later this week.
New Biz
8/13 ? MDC QSO Party ? can we get K3PZN on air for participation?
8/21 ? Tailgate at Ag Center ? need help for setup/cleanup and ticket  
sellers, etc
8/27 ? Emergency Expo at Lowes in Westminster ? exposure for the club.  
  2 portable antennae, inside operation.  No antenna tower.  Update ?  
event canceled due to hurricane Irene.
BNB Embroidery ? supply sample shirts and caps to show to the club.   
Digitize a large club emblem for jackets possibly.
Authorized $50 to digitize large logo:  motioned - Bill Stevenson,  
NB3B; seconded ? Joe Ebaugh, N3YIM.
Sept. 10-11th VHF/UHF (6m on up) QSO party.

Bill Long:
BeaconAid ? info on the world wide network of beacons updated every  
three minutes.
Reverse Beacon Network ? SDR's logging CW CQ calls all around the  
world reporting on the S/N and other specs.
Presentation:
WO3L presented an antenna problem exercise and Windows 7 installation  
challenges (not related :-).
