Thanks everyone, perhaps you are correct Andy, but I won't hold my breath depending on club members only to fill out the VE session.
I've always wanted twice the basic need of 3 VEs just-in-case. Case in point; I was not allowed to touch any papers this time because my son was taking a test, the FCC/ARRL rules state that I can't touch his papers but Laurel is stricter, which is fine, but it meant that if I had been the #3 VE my son would not have been allowed to take the test - either that or no one could take a test. It turned out that Laurel also brought more than enough VEs so we were covered & I ended up being the gofer.
This year there was not enough advertisements about holding a VE session on any of our flyers or listings, we need to be sure to do that next year, Who puts those things together? Whoever you are make sure it says "FREE Laurel VE Test Session" this will help bring people to the Hamfest as well as bring them to the test session.
Who wants to step up and organize the whole thing? I'll be the backup but if anyone else is willing to take the reins and get the job done, as opposed to take the reins & let the matter drop like two years ago, I'll gladly help/coach/or stand on the side lines whatever you want.
If no one steps up I'll "organize" it again for next year by calling the Laurel group to remind them, I'll email here to keep the people in charge of the Hamfest cognisant of the fact that we WILL have a FREE VE session provided by the Laurel VEC. I don't have the time to coordinate the session, and handle all the paper work, Laurel has staff to do that and I'm just willing to let them handle that end of the event. But if you are not, then I expect you to get Laurel certified and put together the staff to handle the paper work & upload the needed files to the FCC so that people get their upgrades/license by Monday afternoon, just as the Laurel staff does it.
