In case anyone is interested in the recent ham radio excursion onto Pike's Peak (ok its not DX, but a different place to operate nonetheless).
Also, in case someone might be interested in building a simple enough beam for 6m -- this other link on VHF/UHF rover antennas is getting some hits also:
Dean has put it up on the NorCal QRP website <http://www,norcalqrp.org> along
with Tony Parks' Softrock presentation on the Pacificon 2011 page.
Jim's presentation is at
<http://www.norcalqrp.org/files%5CVHF_and_UHF_Antennas_for_QRP_Portable_Operation.pdf>
Looks like a very fun antenna to build and use along with my FT817.

Subject: [QRP-L] Pikes Peak and NA SOTA Event (Video)
Video Description:
Mike/KD9KC and Ron/WT5RZ (two Desert Rats from El Paso, TX) visited Colorado Springs during North American Summits on the Air weekend event. They decide to activate Pikes Peak seeing the weather was surprisingly still in Indian Summer mode on Oct 22! Both Mike with his AlexLoop-Walkham antenna and Ron with his Buddipole vertical make lots of interesting contacts worldwide (T32C) in spite of the wind and cold. Fun day on the summit of Pikes Peak for SOTA and Ham Radio!
