I think we're talking about two different kinds of "grease."  One type is 
for use between a processor or transistor and a heat sink for good thermal 
conductivity.  The other is used between dissimilar metals to provide good 
electrical conductivity and ward off galvanic corrosion, between copper and 
aluminum for example.
