A cool thing about this hobby is that we each get to define sufficient (hence my word choice!). And we all will enjoy these different definitions this weekend! Nifty that WX3B and N3SB had the vision to set this up (I merely asked about it again last April or May ....).
In my dreams I would get to operate at each position in our FD ! There is not a mode nor rig that will be at our FD that I could not have fun with!
For 'my' CW position, I know the 'piece of wire' is 'sufficient' because I made two Q's with KH6 last year! On SSB it is possible that I might have zero KH6's.
I know of some folk in 'other states' that will get up tommorrow, hike into the woods carrying their rigs and everything else, set up some wire beams -- and score very well in FD. Others may do the same and score a bit less, but enjoy the experience. I probably should say 'sufficient enjoyment.'
I just hope some additional folk join us tommorrow -- as its not like I can't do radio other places than FD. While the gang down the road with their 'sponsored rigs' are neat folk, I prefer our more layed back style. And its more likely that 'ordinary' folk are more likely to find quality operating time at our place -- as we literally are short-handed for operators.
Nice to 'QSO' -- C U this weekend!

I am not sure if I should be offended or not. I would consider my 3 element mono bander on a fifty foot tower for 20 meters a nice antenna and not just "sufficient" for FD. Note that the 20m and 15m SSB stations will be air conditioned, so no one can use the temp or rain as an excuse.
Unfortunately, It doesn't sound like Icom will be supplying OUR site with complimentary radios, but I think we will have a variety of nice rigs.

We really need to expand our pool of operators who are available after dinner on Saturday, and around breakfast on Sunday morning. You enjoy radio enough to have a license and a shack - it is time for you to take a Field Trip to operate 'someone else's rig.'
