[K3PZN-List] cw station update

Steve

if you are confident we have enough ops, its a decent idea.  but at the moment CW#2 is short of operators for the 12-6 am hours.  at the moment ops are W3IN, N3WM and myself - as K3ESE has not yet committed to any particular time.

I was on 80m the last couple days - and I had this feeling that best use of two ops in the night hours might be on 40 and 20m ..... if 15m does not open then my crew will be working a good chunk of who is on 40m.

On the other hand - I like to see folk involved, so if we can keep 3 rigs busy during prime time why not.

I still need to work out generators with W3JJH and those not plugged into the RV park.  As my rig is current friendly I might even plug into N3DRA's solar system - but I do not want to assume that.

The option play is to have the extra rig and PS in the car - of course its another PC also.

K3PZN does have 2 generators - we just need to organize their deployment.  Sounds like we can work this on Saturday morning - if we have arrangements to get them to the site.

I thought about building a 6m Moxon, but I have enough to do putting together a FD station for the first time.  Today not much happening on 6m, so hard to say if it will open during a 24 hour period.

Subject: cw station update

I was on 20m last night at midnight and it was rocking. If it's like that FD weekend 20m could be open all night ....so...I'm going to put together a second separate station for 80m/10m so we can get on both 20 and 80 at the same time.  On the other hand, qrn levels on the low bands are probably going to be REALLY high.

Also, unless someone else would like to, I'll volunteer to put in an effort on 6 and 2m. It will be a very simple station with an inverted v on 6 and possibly my 2m vertical on my truck. If I have time I'll dig out my 2m beam and get on ssb but time is looking tight between now and FD. I'll do this while 80 is non-productive. If someone else has plans to get on VHF, delete the three previous sentences!

------Curt, I can only run two stations with my small generator so this means you will need to hook up to another AC source.------

Steve B..thanks for changing my reflector address!
