[K3PZN-List] Jack Kolb's Passing

I feel sad and short changed. Jack was at our
monthly meeting just last month (Monday, May 9).
Awhile we were ending and chatting about future
program topics, he offered to give a presentation
on one or more topics for any coming months that
we found our Programs Committee "without a topic
scheduled."

I liked each potential topic he brought up as
examples, and I told him so, hoping that we would
see him present again over the course of the rest
of the calendar year. But, alas, . . .

Such a loss.

In far more ways than one, for us and our club
and beyond Carroll County. I always hoped that
we could help change his jocular "no call" status
to back to how "it used to be."

My condolences to Edward J. "Jack" Kolb's
family and all who were dear to him.

Sincerely,

Pat Kilroy

Bill

Wow - how did I miss that.  I was always amazed Jack could hang out with us ordinary people, as our typical jabber is often not that enlightening to a physicist.  I am not surprised he went quietly without fanfare, and to this brilliant man who also recognized the Higher Power he is certainly thriving now.

I found out from a friend that Jack Kolb  had passed away this week,
June15th.  Jack was quite a interesting man who accomplished much in
life. He was a truly good friend to CCARC in so many ways and I consider
it a privilege to know him. He was always eager to share stories about
his travel and projects he was involved in over his lifetime.  He will
be missed.
