[K3PZN-List] 6m A Wild Ride Today

Today around 1920Z we had a faint opening to Europe, and by 2000 the band was hopping with signals from all over Europe.  I heard nearly all the common countries and worked several of them, some even on phone.  As there is not much QRN up here, and not much man made noise in my community - everything was hear able - meaning often you could here several stations in the background.  Early in the opening I heard a UK voice say 'mobile' and then he faded.  The signals were riding the ions like a surfboard rides the waves.  Its definitely something to experience!  If this happens during FD - I can imagine VHF operators working more DX than HF.  I can imagine the big stations worked 100 or more contacts during this opening.  What does one need?  I did ok with 100 watts and a 2 element quad.  Be alert if you have 6m gear.
