[K3PZN-List] Nice Meeting We Had

Anthony -

cool. George is one of those types that is driven to big projects. what he has
is quite unique, and I can imagine he is not into profit making just yet. he
used to host (with a club) a decent sized QRP conference.

QRP. time is likely a bigger factor - but here are some interesting kits:

Small Wonder Labs -- SW-series is CW. they also have a PSK rig.

Fort Tuthill 80m -- from a club in Arizona - I have one. its an interesting
rig.

both Ft Tuthill and SW- run around $60 for all but the case, which can be
anything.

and another idea - a Softrock transceiver - its the RF part of George's rig - it
can be used stand-alone, and of course its a 'down payment'

I also have lots of articles of homebrew stuff, and a decent stash of parts
also. Also in this category are the super-simple transmitters -- Tuna Tin,
Sardine sender and the like. If you don't have ARRL access I can provide some
literature.

another 'hoot' is building a regenerative receiver - its a novelty but
interesting to experience. these take only a few parts - the only 'hard' ones
are a couple of variable capacitors.

I need to catch up with you and ask about that exotic antenna tuner you were
assemblying, with some rather nifty parts.

meanwhile enjoy the winter season with your growing family, and a little radio.

73 Curt

I was impressed by the rig, especially by the fact that it was capable of ssb as
well as digimodes as long as you had it configured properly. The band scope
feature was a nice to have too.

All in all, a very nicely packaged product for the QRP enthusiast.

I am interested in QRP just haven't found the right project with my time/budget
constraints.
