[K3PZN-List] Results of the Repeater Meeting

To summarize the results of today's repeater meeting (all costs are 
estimates):

1. We were in agreement to proceed with a request to the club membership 
to fund the replacement of our 2m and 70cm repeaters.

2. The proposed 2m replacement is a Motorola Quantar 20W unit that we 
will interface to our existing aftermarket PA. This is would be 
purchased (used) for $1550.

3. The proposed 70cm replacement is a Motorola MSF-5000 from club spare 
inventory. No cost.

4. After a review of available options a SCOM 7330 was selected. This is 
a 3 port controller that will interface to the 6m, 2m, and 70cm machines 
allowing control and linking of all 3. This would be purchased new for 
$500.

5. The 2m duplexer will be replaced with a new duplexer, cost $1400.

6. We are looking for a rack enclosure for the project, prefer one with 
doors to open frame, also think we need adjustable depth rails due to 
mounting different models including the after market PA's that will need 
different mounting depths for the doors to close correctly.

Adding everything up and allowing for incidentals results in a overall 
request of $4000 from the repeater replacement fund (does not exhaust 
the fund). A detailed presentation will be given at the next meeting.
