Yeah it was up and running the day after FedEx managed to find my house.
Setup was easy, just connect the PTT, coax, and RF ground and its on the
air. I've used it both with the Flex radio and the FT950. I need to work
on the RF ground a bit, running up near full power on 15m the antenna
switch control box LED's show a little light on voice peaks (have to
have all the lights off to notice it) and 1 of my sets of headphones
sounds like it might be getting a little RF (my hearing isn't so great
so that may be more in my head than the radio) just enough floating
around that I want to address it. On 80M it gets a little cranky with my
antenna SWR near the top of the band, I'm pretty sure that's due to the
angle of the two wires being a lot closer than desired. If the mud pit
in the yard dries up a bit I'll move the one end to a different tree and
see what happens. So far the auto-tune feature is really nice, takes
about 3 sec to tune up on a band change, don't notice it making
adjustments as I move up and down a given band but watching the software
you can see the numbers on the caps changing little bits at a time.
Unrelated to this change my 2nd 12V supply died the other day, was ok1
minute the next no DC out. I've gotten as far as sitting it on the
workbench but then other events conspired to take up my vacation.
