what SDr are you using.. and I cant believe you dont operate on 160 it is by far the nicest band we have DX is more challanging there too

Currently I'm looking at a noise floor of -78 dBm at the lower part of 160 and -85 dBm near the upper end. I'm using a 80M antenna, Flex-3000 in AM mode with a 16KHz filter. Doesn't sound all that bad over here. Of course since I don't operate 160 I have no idea what to expect at 1600L in mid December on 160.
