CCARC Meeting August 9, 2010

Andy Leeds, WO3L , called the meeting to order at 7:40 PM. 12  members  
and 2 guests in attendance.
Introductions all around

July Minutes accepted.
Board of Directors (BOD) meeting - Andy will forward the minutes to  
the reflector.

Committees:
Treasury ?
Treasurer, Pete Morton W3GVX, gave the report.
Pete will not be available for tailgate fest.  Bill, N3WM, volunteered  
to stand in.

Emergency/Disaster Communications Service (DCS) ?
Report given my Steve, N3SB.
Meets on the 4th Monday of the month.
ARES - Caret net still running!  Attend!
RACES ? the Emergency Management Planner, Chrissy Alp resigned.   
September RACES in question.

Repeaters ?
Andy, WO3L, checked the web site and determined it is correct in  
regards to the repeater frequencies and their respective PL tones.
Club Station -
No working HF antennas at the club locale.  Need a tower party for  
repairs.  Any volunteers for a committee?
Recommendation:  Remove hardline and lo-band antenna feeds to run new  
lines.  Previous professional install is questionable and may need to  
be replaced.
Tailgate Fest -
August 15th.  Signage and setup at the Ag Center.  4pm Saturday for  
setup, Sunday setup 5:00am.
Vendors - $5 for as much space as the vendor needs.
Prize budget ? $125.00, ARRL gift certificates.
MD QSO Party -
August 14 ? 15.
New Biz
Web site possibilities ? bring ideas to the BOD mtg for discussion.
Membership badges?  Need to research.

Presentation -
Subject :  Ham Radio Accessories
Steve, N3SB - demonstrated an official ARRL Emergency communications  
vest.  No blue chiffon ? denied!
Andy, WO3L ? demonstrated reusable cable clamps from Home Depot.  No,  
Andy does not work for Home Depot.
Announcements:
