CCARC Meeting September 13, 2010

  Andy Leeds, WO3L, called the meeting to order at 7:34 PM. 13   
members and 2 guests in attendance.

Committees:
Treasury ?
August treasurer report given by Pete Morton.
Bank account balance:  $23,658.79
Income from Tailgate Fest:  $1252.27
Expenses: $497.00
Tailgate Fest Total:  $755.27

DCS ?
Steve, N3SB:
RACES net moved to Monday to avoid the election.
Hope to begin meeting at the EOC when the new Emergency Mgr comes on board.
Reminders:
Check your go-kits and other emergency gear.
ARES net Tuesdays at 8:30 PM

Repeaters ?
Working as expected.
Club station needs work.  Not as bad as expected.

Hamfest -
Presentations:
Software defined radios.
Teaching SMT ? Re-flow solder with toaster-oven or frying pan.
Check with Phil, K3FL, on preregistration for testing.

New Biz
October Hamfest.  Pat, N8PK, is planning satellite launch/demo for the fest.
PICetSat ? demos of telemetry.  Pat is looking for 4 guys to  
participate in prep and flight days.  Contact Pat ASAP.  Oct. 24th  
launch ? altimeter, wind, and more!

Topic of the night:  Shack Pictures
Andy, WO3L, displayed pictures of his shack complete with Dilbert
Stu, W3STU, shared his pictures of antennae and shack.
Bill, N3WM, vintage gear and new stuff.
Jim, WX3B, multi-station setup.
Announcements:
BARC starting an Extra class.  14 day in classroom training.  September 21.
BOD mtg September 22nd.  4th Wednesday of the month.
Hospital station up and running.  Steve, N3SB, recommends volunteers  
to go over and operate to get face time with the staff.  Volunteers  
needed to operate during CARET Nets.

Need to check PL tones on website and in ARRL guide.  TMARC is correct  
according to Andy.
