[K3PZN-List] FD Log Census

no surprise - N3SB brought a cute smaller laptop to a meeting - it had no microsoft nor any other proprietary products on it (at least at the time).

a network does offer some utility at FD.  as for needing rig control, the 15m SSB station is supposed to stay on 15m SSB - so not much info really is needed from the rig for the log !

my understanding is that we do not have a firm agreement in place to all the use the same logging software between the two clubs - I am solely motivated by equipping the pool of operators.  let's see how many of us can sign-on to this objective, and go from there.  the club does have PC's (and rigs) that can be used.

I find it fun to use a different radio than I have used before, and FD gives that opportunity.  A different log can be less fun - but it is not so dreadful if planned in advance.  If most of us use the same log, that will make it a little easier for the 15m team to operate one of those other stations, in particular if 15m does not behave as an HF band then.

I do have this thought - check with the FD leaders to see if you can also be assigned 10m - as that band could be more active with E-skip.  Of course note that those stations that are networked can deal with sharing band (and even mode) responsibilities - subject to EMI of course.

Folk--

This may come as a shock, but not everyone has a Windows computer.  If
I use one of my Macs for rig control, I'd also like to use it for
logging.  If a Windows-only environment is necessary, I can either run
without computer control using a borrowed computer or I can use
someone else's rig for the station I captain.
