Good thoughts - I am suspicious Mike N3VOP will have the gear and know-how to put a satellite QSO into the log.
Matt - definitely you will have to give a presentation someday on using NEC in antenna design. I was exposed to this method of antenna simulation in grad school - but haven't be motivated yet to analyze antennas with that precision.

Matt, I wish I could jump on your offer. As it turns
out for me at least, while you are heading back here
from the west, I will be doing the same from the north
(NYC), although I hope I will make it in time for the
yummy 6:00 PM FD dinner on Saturday. (But that may be
wishful and good intentions?) Cheers, Pat N8PK.

I likely won't be able to make it to FD at all -- I'll be driving back from
Kansas City starting Saturday morning -- but I'll gladly leave my portable
satellite yagi behind if someone would like to set up a satellite station
(or just attach it to the VHF+ station, though a seperate satellite station
still wouldn't affect our entry class) for a relatively easy 100 point
bonus. The antenna is a single-feedpoint design and has a 6' tail off of the
back of the boom terminated in a SMA plug.
