[K3PZN-List] 2010 field day Class and Station Captain Assignments

Sounds like we are clearly committed to 2 CW, 1 digital and at least 3 SSB stations - which = 6A

A VHF/UHF can be added in the same class.

A 4th SSB could be considered, but it assumes 15 or 10m to be open. Not certain.

I suggest we flesh out a roster of ops for each station and see how we are manned.

Subject: [K3PZN-List] 2010 field day Class and Station Captain Assignments

Hi Everyone,

It IS GREAT to FEEL all the field day enthusiasm!!

Curt has it right, the station captains will select the equipment, install and de-install) the station (hopefully with lots of help), and make the operating schedules up for field day.

There have been several inquiries about our field day "class" so I'm going to put out an educated guess on how it will end up.

The exact answer will be determined shorly before, or DURING field day.

If we have 4 SSB stations, 2 CW stations, 1 GOTA station and 1 VHF station, it puts us (at our choice) in the 6A or 7A classification.

Folks that enjoy running QRP can certainly do so, however our class of operation allows up to 150 watts and I intend to run as close to that limit as possible!

Currently, your official station captains are:

a. NY3A: 20mCW, 80m CW
b. WB8YYY: CW #2 40m and ???
c. W3ARS : Unassigned
d. K1RH: 20m SSB
e. WX3B: Unassigned
f. WO3L: GOTA station, offers computer network for consolidated log (optional)
g. N3VOP: VHF
h. K3KWO: Digital Modes (?)
i. W3JJH: Digital Modes, all band HF (SSB), Natural Power multiplier, flexible station

Nobody has claimed a full time operation on some VERY JUICY BANDS including:

1. 80m SSB
2. 40m SSB
3. 15m SSB
4. 10m SSB (may not worth a full time station this year)

Do we have any station captain volunteers for these BIG bands????

73!

Jim WX3B
