[K3PZN-List] 2010 FD PREP - launching wire

I am sure everyone would enjoy using the Omni - and I hope we are able to deploy lots of operators at CW station #2.  I even invited Lloyd to bring a paddle as he can be picky, but he is out of town that week.  I may bring another paddle just so operators can choose what they want to use.  And of course - we will need 2 sets of headphones that can be borrowed from the club stash.

Do you have your rig set up to accept CW from a PC, and present its band/freq to a PC ?  It would be good to have you download N1MM into your own shack to verify things are connected.

My thought on the zepp (its about 31 feet on each leg) was providing a good 15m directional antenna and also 40m with the same wire, with a light feedline.  Of course this only works if we have supports to get it up about 25 feet and aimed west.  Of course I expect the bulk of our operating will be on 40m.  Sounds like Steve will be setting up a beam for 20m and a dipole for 80m at CW station 1.

Until we klnow the arrangement of antenna supports (some that we must erect) it is not easy to see how it will all come together.  We also need to count our kW for everything so we don't overshoot our generators.

Yes I have the same launching set-up as Pete - hyper-dog with a reel attached .... I was amazed by Pete's shot over the barn at the club site.  Of course it gets a bit harder when aiming at a smaller target!  If the slingshot has any use, it won't be challenged in Gamber as there are nothing but light poles and whatever we bring - I don't know if any trees are close enough to be useful.  I vaguely know the site from church picnics.

Ok on the zepp....would you like to meet over at the site one evening
with me? I think it would be a good idea so we can be as prepared as
possible. I still am planning to bring the Omni VII, 238 tuner, keyper
and side paddle/straight key combo ok?
