Anthony

very cool !

logging suggestions -- up until 'recently' i only logged on paper -- i will be glad to send you the paper form (in MS word) that I used to use.  let me know -- its not a huge file!

i used winlog32 for everyday logging, FYI.  its a free download.

QSL's -- i primarly use the QSL bureau and log-book-of-the-world.  i can't justify spending several $$ per QSL card via mail.  I guess my advice here is to not look for immediate paper gratification!  keep making QSO's -- and once you are setup for log-book-of-the world you'll be able to see the 'confirmations.'

meanwhile enjoy your own station as you get it hooked up.

hint - to start receiving digital modes all you need is an audio cable from your rig's speaker jack to your PC soundcard -- and some software you can download.  meanwhile, keep up the SSB operating.

Ok, thanks to Pete for helping me today. I was really getting worried about
not making a contact but, I took my rig over to Pete's house today and he
showed me how to get it running right and as a result, made my first HF
contact on 40 meters tonight! It was a DX contact with I2VRN in Milan, Italy
@ 7:50pm (00:50 UTC). I was floored that he actually heard me @ 4246 miles
from my QTH! His signal report for me started out at 5 and 7 and ended up at
5 and 9 so, needless to say, I'm still ecstatic!!! Time to go make some more
contacts!!!

Anthony
