Dear 10 meter enthusiasts,
Curt, WB8YYY has it right.
Every year I continue to FORGET how much fun 10 meters is, until the "season" arrives. These openings have more to do with the E-skip season than the actual sunspot numbers.
On a related note, the CQ WPX CW contest was last weekend, and 10 meters opened up to Europe for several hours starting before 6:00pm. I haven't observed a multi-hour opening to Europe in quite some time.
10 meters is full of surprises. In a few more years, you will be able to work Europe from sunrise to sunset, while you're working JAs during sunset.
73!
