Wow! I was actually expecting replies of congrats and good luck wishes on the looking for a rig to use. I actually have a Viking 2 transmitter and NC183d but the transmitter is in need of a good deal of work to get on the air I don't have the VFO/CRYSRAL Control for the viking either. Its looking like one of those longer term projects. Got to see about getting the electrolytics replaced since its been off the air for at least 17 years. Besides that, its only AM and CW.

I was also wondering, Does the club have loaner radios by chance? I mean, I hear the Hf radios are only used a handfull of times a year @ the EOC.

Not really concerned with newer, just want to get my feet wet and be able to get on theair when I have the time. Most of my free time seems to be after 8-9pm @ night...

Anthony-

I have a Heathkit SB-303 receiver (solid state) and an SB-400 transmitter
(tube) that can be configured to operate transceive (three interconnect
cables if I remember correctly). They have been sitting on the shelf for a
couple of decades, so may need some contact cleaner and maybe some
electrolytics replaced. If interested, you are welcome to try them out.

But, you are probably looking for something newer.

Let me know and I'll dust them off.
