Folks;

The Simulated Emergency Test is this Saturday Morning, starting at 9:00 AM,
and lasting until about noon.

Here's the scenario: Hurricane Murphy has just passed through the
Maryland-DC area. Winds in excess of 90 MPH have knocked out power,
telephone lines, and any antennas more than 20 feet above ground. Local
repeaters are not operational.

ARES members need to establish communications with each other, and relay
reports of local (exercise) damage using NTS format messages. Most ARES
team members can participate in the SET right from their home, if they wish
to do so. Depending on your local terrain and the distance between
individual ARES members, you may have to set up temporary antennas in order
to communicate. You may need to use HF to bridge some of the distance. Of
course emergency power sources will be required.

Since I need to be monitoring the progress of the exercise in the MDC
Section, I'm looking for someone who can facilitate the exercise here in
Carroll. If you are interested, please let me know.

73; Steve, N3SB
