[K3PZN-List] Jamboree on the Air (Boy Scouts)

We should be impressed that they might be interested.

If scouts are indeed interested, it is a worthwhile idea to open our station and provide some educational resources.

Obviously a short educational activity is needed before handing a mike to teenagers (even with the required control op). But trust me they are quick learners. Given their/our busy schedules this would have to be at the JOTA event. (We should perhaps provide a little info to scout leaders to honestly market what we will in JOTA).

We should find out if other modes, like PSK31, are sufficiently used in JOTA, and prepare for those.

In terms of follow-up after JOTA, we could consider how we can support any interested scouts in obtaining a radio merit badge -- and perhaps also a ham license. (In the old days, the radio merit badge requirements were closely aligned with the Novice license ... obviously things have changed).

Very likely I can support this JOTA activity.
