John (K3KWO)

Thanks for posting thoughts! We need them, and some
more!

While a dress rehersal sounds nice - well i am not
sure I want to erect and tear down the antennas twice!
(We will need to work out a plan once we know our
site - and I suspect we can run it by K4CGY for his
advice once we optimize it ourselves).

Note per John's (W3JJH) suggestion, if we ran 2
separate co-located stations we can expand beyond the
1000 foot diameter, because each would be measured to
its own 1000 feet. (We would merely be limited by our
site constraints).

Low sunspots and QRP SSB may equal frustration, and we
dont need that for newer ops especially. If we can
QRO SSB without the burden of generators it is worth
consideration.

If we ran SSB at 100w, we could also run digital from
this station -- and perhaps RTTY would be effective at
50w output (its a better contest mode than PSK meaning
its easier to get a higher rate) ... just my two cents
(perhaps its value!).

More input from the masses please --

73, curt
