Like Curt, I can be happy with either a QRP or a 100 W Field Day. I
would vote against a QRO operation because of the generator
requirements.

We have enough K2s and good full-size rigs (Omni VI, etc.) floating
around the club to keep 3 CW rigs going on either a QRP or a 100 W
operation.

Let's think outside the box for a bit.

Suppose we operated two Field Day sites (two call signs), right next
to each other, a QRP/Battery CW site and a 100 W phone/digital
site/VHF site. 3 CW rigs racking up 10 points per QSO, and the other
site for the non-QRP ops. Neither site would necessarily have a huge
score, but the combined total could be substantial. Operators could
work at both sites. The only restriction would be that neither call
sign could work the other for credit.

There some other things I'd like to see this year:

1. I'd like us to go back out into the field for Field Day.

2. I'd like us to make it more of a social event. I have fond
memories of the pot lucks at Gamber.

3. I'd like us to try to use the event to better promote ham radio.
Could we have a training class tied to Field Day, and a VE session as
part of the weekend. I'd be happy to promote such a program among
Scout units.

4. I agree with Curt that we need a better suite of antennas. We
should put much more preparation into this.
