Folks - here are the NOVEMBER CCARC minutes. Please note that the next CCARC
meeting is actually TOMORROW NIGHT!

Carroll County Amateur Radio Club
Meeting Minutes, 12 November 2007

Vice-President Gene Kern, KB3JHR, called the meeting to order at 7:35 PM.
Fifteen members and 3 guests were present.

Announcements:

The next CCARC meeting will be the Holiday Dinner on Sunday December 2 at the
VFW Hall in Westminster.

The next BoD meeting will be on Monday November 19th, 7:30 PM at the FTC.

Joe N3YIM announced that he had brought some audio equipment, free for the
taking.

Phil KE3FL announced that the ARES/RACES renewal cycle is coming up. You can
renew on his website.

Pete W3GVX brought an interesting PICAXE toy he built to the meeting, which will
be put on display after the meeting.

>From the mailbag:

The club’s mail was briefly reviewed and dispositioned. 

Secretary’s Report:

Steve N3SB published the secretary’s report to the club’s email reflector. The
report was accepted by the membership present. 

Treasurer’s Report:

Tony KF3AK provided the treasurer’s report, detailing current balances, income,
and expenses. The report was accepted by the membership present. 

Board of Directors Report:

The report was published to the reflector. No club members desired to have the
report read.

Committee Reports:

DCS: Chuck N3TOT reported -- The next meeting (November 24th) will be devoted to
finishing the assembly of the four shelter kits that the county has procured. A
visit was paid to the Anne Arundel County EOC to get a demonstration of the
Navigator interface. A visit to the Howard County EOC was conducted to attend
the Maryland RACES Interoperability Committee. A visit to the Armed Forces
Retirement Home was conducted to attend the Maryland Section Digital
Conference.

Holiday Party: Bill N3WM reported that the Holiday part will be held at the VFW
this year, on Sunday December 2nd. The menu and member costs will be worked out
soon. Door prizes will be obtained.

Technology Experimenters Committee: John K3KWO has been building a PSK-20 kit.
He’ll bring it into the club meeting when he’s done.

Station Committee: Gene KB3JHR is planning to put together a survey to see what
members want to have in the station.

Presentation: 

Gene K3HVG gave the club a presentation on Lightning Protection.

Other:

Jack Kolb mentioned that the log periodic antenna was developed at the
University of Illinois.

Mike N3VOP briefly described the upcoming November Sweepstakes Phone contest,
which occurs on the third weekend in November.

Closing notes:

Vice-President Kern adjourned the meeting at 9.20 PM.
