CCARC Board of Directors Meeting, 21-January-2008

In attendance were Rich N3III, Gene KB3JHR, Tony KF3AK, Bill W3STG, Chuck N3TOT,
Bill N3WM, and Steve N3SB.
 
1.	DCS Committee Request – Chuck N3TOT has requested funds to build antenna
cases for the County Shelter Kits. After a brief discussion, the BoD determined
that the committee probably had sufficient funds to cover the request.

2.	2008 Grant Request – A grant request is being submitted to the Carroll County
Office of Emergency Management. The request includes a three year plan for
communications equipment improvements at the EOC, as well as additions to the
County Shelter Kits.

3.	Elections – Current Slate is:

4.	Field Day – The BoD is pleased to see that discussions hve started on the
club reflector. There will be a vote at the February meeting to determine what
type of Field Day the club will have this June.

5.	Tailgate Fest / Hamfest – Tentative dates selected are August 17 and October
26. The dates are being confirmed with the Ag Center, and ARRL Sanctioning for
both events will be sought.

6.	Banquet – The 2008 CCARC Banquet is on Sunday afternoon December 7 at the VFW
hall in Westminster.

7.	Mid-term Financials – Tony KF3AK reminded the BoD that most of the committees
has not spent ANY of their money – giving him the impression that the committees
may not be doing anything.

8.	Tax Return Status – Tony submitted our Federal tax return forms, along with
data for the past five years, so that the club can retain its non-profit
status.

9.	TEC Group – Rich plans on getting the TEC Committee meetings re-started now
that the holidays are over. 

10.	Future Meeting Topics – Joe KB3LNM will be giving a presentation on Antenna
modeling software. Several ideas for future meeting topics were discussed – CW
operating, Oscilloscopes, Music Conversion using Audacity, ARES/RACES status in
Carroll County, DSP.

11.	Van Disposition – Bill N3WM has offered to contact a local auction house to
see if they would be interested in auctioning the subject item.
