[K3PZN-List] RACES Heightened Alert Status Request 16-21 Jan 2009

Folks;

Alan Caho from the Carroll County Office of Emergency Management has requested
that RACES be on stand-by in case any need for our services arises between
Friday January 16 and Wednesday January 21. A portion of Alan's email is
reproduced below:

"At this time I am asking all radio volunteers to be on a STANDBY ALERT
starting Friday, January 16 through Wednesday, January 21, 2009. This is
precautionary only at this time and further information will certainly
follow."

Alan would like to meet with RACES right after the first of the year to work out
the specifics. When the date & time have been chosen I'll pass the information
along to everyone.

Alan had another comment that he asked me to pass along to all the RACES
volunteers:

"I want to thank all the fantastic volunteer amateur radios operators
associated with the Carroll County Amateur Radio Team for all there
dedication and effort to making Carroll County sustainable during an
emergency."
