Wow!  Funny that TR4 was a new rig when I made my first QSO's with it from the high school station (ok it was a TR4C so maybe I am not quite that dated).  HW16 in same book as Collins?  Well at least it has QSK, and a < 1 kHz filter - major advances for entry-level CW operation back then.  But I am reminded (when I use it) that i has no AGC.  Someday the K2 will be dated - maybe!  I am not ready for rigs without physical controls (but some folk think these are archaic even though they are still being manufactered.  

I actually had a QSO - maybe 2 - on the 410 machine this week.  Ran into AE3O who knows some of the gang.
