CCARC Board of Directors Meeting, 19-March-2008
In attendance were Rich N3III, Tony KF3AK, Chuck N3TOT, Bill N3WM, Frank K3MTT,
Gene KB3JHR, Steve N3SB, and elected BoD members Andy WO3L, Pat N8PK, John
K3KWO, and Curt WB8YYY.
1. Field Day Andy WO3L and Curt WB8YYY briefly outlined what the latest
thinking is for Field Day. Despite several attempts to generate some consensus
via the reflector among club members, there has not been a large response. So
the plan is to set up Field Day at the Fire Training Center (assuming it is
available) and spread out stations over the grounds, and set up antennas, to
gain additional separation to permit 100 Watts power output.
2. Tailgate Fest / Hamfest Bill N3WM informed the club that the deposit has
been made to secure the August 17 date at the Ag Center. The hamfest flier is
ready and will be printed for distribution at the upcoming hamfests. ARRL
sanctioning for the Tailgate-Fest will be requested.
3. Banquet The banquet is scheduled for Sunday December 7, 5:00 PM at the VFW
Fire Hall.
4. Future Meeting Topics The BoD discussed a number of topics for meetings for
the coming year.
5. PICetSat Flight Pat N8PK is eager to get rolling with Balloon flights.
There will be a balloon launce in April from Carroll County. Pat will be
briefing the club on this mission in April.
6. Maryland-DC QSO Party The club received a letter from the Antietam Radio
Association requesting a donation to support the Maryland-DC QSO Party. The BoD
approved a $50 donation to them.
7. Membership extension for WX3F the BoD voted to extend Larrys membership
through December 2008, in appreciation of his military service to our county.
8. Pat N8PK mentioned that Ron Parise WA4SIR is facing a health crisis, and
should be kept in our thoughts. The BoD will be sending him a card with our
best wishes and thanking him for his contribution to ham radio.
Respectfully Submitted;
Steve Beckman, N3SB
CCARC Secretary.
