They are great rigs.  I built one brand new when I was 16.  With the HW8 and
a small 3 element 15 meter beam worked Australia for the first time with a
couple of watts CW.  It was a real thrill back when the sunspot cycle was
peaking.

I got $100 for mine (no power supply, no mods).  I would have rated it a 9
out
of 10.

I've seen HW-8s without power supplies on ebay going for $70 to $125.  With
a
power supply a cherry unit goes for around $150.

An original manual in good condition adds another $10 or so.
