[K3PZN-List] Simulated Emergency Test this Saturday 06-October

Folks;

The simulated emergency test is this Saturday, October 6. All radio amateurs are
encouraged to participate.

1) This year all stations will participate from their home QTH. That should make
it easier for everyone to get involved.

2) Start time is a surprise! However it'll be sometime between 9:00 AM and 1:00
PM. Duration should be no more than 3 hours.

3) The scenario is a surprise too! However, I recommend that everyone review
CARET net activation procedures, and the primary & secondary CARET frequencies
used in Carroll County. You can find that information at
http://www.qsl.net/caret/index.html .  We may have need to use VHF Packet
and/or HF SSB. Also recommend that everyone review the NTS Traffic handling
procedures, and have forms handy. Finally, recommend that everyone has their
emergency power sources checked out, and at the ready.
