AMATEUR RADIO LEGISLATION DIES IN THE MARYLAND SENATE

There will be no hearings in the House this year. I just learned that
the Senate Committee on Judicial Proceedings voted NOT to recommend our
bill to the full membership for a vote: in other words, the bill "died
in committee."

This is not unusual. According to the General Assembly website, about
2,300 bills are introduced with only a hundred or so getting all the way
through.

We learned a lot, including some things that will definitely improve our
chances. Section leadership is already making plans for next year.

But this year, there is no need for you to attend the hearing scheduled
for the House committee hearing on March 15th.
