Fellow Field Dayers,
John accepted my application for Food Captain, which
can only mean he was desperate. Since I haven't done
this before, let me share my battle plan. I intend on
going shopping for drinks and snacks Thursday. On
Friday, I have to work so I don't expect to get to the
EOC until between 1630 and 1700. John volunteered to
help with nourishment during the interim.
How many field day participants did we have last year,
just to give me an idea of how many snacks and drinks
to purchase. I'm thinking of getting the following:
- Regular Coffee
- Decaf Coffee
- Creamer and sugar
- Variety of regular and diet sodas
- Chips and so forth
- Salsa and some other kinds of dips
- Paper plates (100?)
- Plastic Ware (100?)
- Cups (150?)
- Napkins and Paper Towels
- Did I forget anything?
We probably could use an extra drip coffee maker or
two. Please let me know if you can bring one. I have
a pretty large cooler and John mentioned he would
bring one as well. I might have to go back out and
get ice.
For dinner on Saturday, we can call out for food
rather than cook in the EOC. Pizza, Chinese take out
and the like is easiest and I'll coordinate that
depending on how many people we have at the time. If
people want to bring something like a salad or
dessert, it would be most appreciated. Please let me
know.
On Sunday morning, we'll have bagels, muffins, coffee
and orange juice at the least.
Thanks - Pete, N3FNE
