Keep in mind I have only voice repeater and
simplex capability at this time. My calendar says
I am good at this time for the morning. An
alternate is suggested as I may need to do one of
my periodic hospital visits next week sometime.

Demonstration Request
I'm sorry, but the reflector is rejecting my
posting of the entire message thread between Genny
& I.
The idea is to provide a demo on Thurs 6/21 from
9AM to 12 N.
Please let me know if you want a copy of the
complete message thread.
Please let me know if you want to participate. We
need 2 or 3 people with an additional person to
respond. (Frank has volunteered for that job)
Thanks

Here are my thoughts:
If we're going to do this as a club, we need to
decide soon; so that we can plan something
appropriate.
Here are some thoughts on a 1 day seminar (3
hours):
1.. General introduction to Amateur radio
30-45 minutes
Talk about what Amateur Radio is, how to get
licensed, how it differs from CB, FRS, & etc.
2.. Morse code demo with a learn chart
45-60 minutes
Provide a sheet with the Morse code on it and
helpful hints to remember the codes.
Provide a demo with a code oscillator.
3.. Homebrew electronics
45-60 minutes
Show and tell of homebrewed kits.
Talk on SDR.
4.. On air demo(s)
30-45 minutes
Utilize repeater to allow actual on air demos.
5.. Discuss ARES/RACES role in disasters 30-45
minutes
These are just quick ideas which need to be
refined.
