Note it is only a few rig designs that are impacted.
Since existing ARRL lab tests do not readily pick up
this condition, it's of great interest. I am
suspicious that changes in the rig's firmware can
correct this, but I don't know if the affected rigs
have provision for user firmware upgrades.
I look forward to seeing you at field day if you can
make it -- if you haven't operated a K2, modern
Argonaut, FT-817 or IC-703 here's your opportunity.
Plus we will have a operating position for 'other QRP
rigs.'
