Bill

FB - i am already trained on the TT1340 -- i hope
yours drifts less than mine !

I like John's idea for the GIOTA station, something we
kinda kicked around last year.

We need to identify how we will get power to each of
the GIOTA rigs. In my shack I use a simple interface
that provides a pair of three way terminals and also a
terminal strip - so it handles a pair of wires well,
but not any of the endless variety of connectors.

It looks like our GIOTA line is something like:

TT1340 40 meters

NC2030 20 meters, has integral keyer and CW freq
readout

KX1 ? typically 20 and 40m, some have 80m. maybe
Rich is bringing. if so i look forward to trying it.

HW7 maybe this is also 80/40/20 ?
PM?

TunaTin/receiver is likely 40m.

Best use of this station may be to pounce on calling
stations -- but this begs the question of how we will
access our CW log from our other stations? Has our IT
expert solved this one already? Does our logging
software allow frequently making a copy of the log and
manually providing it via USB drive? I fear otherwise
this station will be a nuisance on the bands making
mostly duplicate QSOs.

-----------

Bill - if you can provide a paddle for the (my) K2 at
your operating position (and work with others to
provide batteries), i am volunteering to support John
in equipping/setting up the GIOTA station.

(my K2 has gained a lot of weight since last year, but
on the good side the volume control is now much nicer
as i finally made the mod to get rid of its static-ky
behavior - i will bring a power cable for the low
power interface - short cable with bare wires at the
battery end, e.g. removed from my power box that might
be used at GIOTA).

73, curt
