Jim
congratulations on FB effort and results!
very FB you are amongst the contesting elite. contesting at a high level requires a good station, a good operator, and willingness to be stuck in a chair for a long time! (thanks for mentioning the other 2 ops. although i have gotten a little wallpaper in several contests including sweepstakes, i am still minor league in all respects. i only operate in the QRP class which has less entries, so i don't have to be in the chair as long! also my QRP station is much better than my QRO station on the receive side).
i would do some googling and check contesting.com, etc. since many operators in the event are outside the US, its gotta be posted online someplace - but perhaps only after publication (?).
glad we have such a well-rounded club in so many aspects of the hobby.
73, curt

Subject: [K3PZN-List] CCARC a Contest Club?
Hi Guys,
At the last meeting it seems that Rich N3III
pointed out that Curt WB8YYY won 1st place and he Rich
N3III won 2nd place QRP in the sweepstakes or was it
the prefix contest. Now the first of this week I get a
mailing from CQ telling me that I took First Place,
Low Power SSB, single operator, all band, 3rd area in
the World Wide WPX contest. I think a few others in
the club have won a couple of awards also. Does this
mean that we have become a contest club? The point of
my message is not to blow my own horn though "he that
tootest not his own horn, his horn does not get
tooted", but to inquire if anyone gets CQ magazine. I
would like to see the total results to see where I
really stand among the others. I have tried news
stands and no CQ's. They and 73 use to be there all
the time. Can someone scan the WPX contest results in
the January 2007 CQ and send them to me via email or
give them to me at the next club meeting?
