[K3PZN-List] Do Stuff with your PICAXE!

Hello Rich,
Thanks. I am soldering up the board this very
minute.
The last time I really worked on small components
this size was when I was designing and building
control boards for our first repeaters. It was all
done "in-house" at that time. Nothing bought.
This little project has already taught me that
1. I need a new set of glasses for this fine work
(that would make about 5 or 6 pair for different
uses.)
2. I need to retire my Isotip Cordless soldering
iron and buy a new one;
3. I need to buy a lighted magnifying glass;
4. there were one or two more things but I forget
what they were!!!
I did get out and dust off a small board holder
that I used to use that lets you rotate the board
while moving it up or down thereby allowing one to
work from any angle on the top or bottom. I would
recommend this little gadget for anyone working on
more than one board. I think I originally bought
mine at Radio Shack years ago for a couple of $$.
Also for when you make a mistake, a roll of
solder wick and a solder sucker. A hobby knife
just to be sure any close pads/traces are not
shorted and a small close side cutting nipper or
heavier duty one with the cutter on the end.
By the way, another idea for attaching to a proto
board would be to put the header on the end of a
small piece of ribbon cable if it would better for
the final assemble of a project. I would imagine
that the length should be kept as short as
possible.

Good morning all,
I have updated the http://home.att.net/~geobra to
include the current software for the PICetSat
Lite. I have also put out an initial page for the
SoftRock Lite, which should be completed in time
for the October meeting.
Thanks and 73,
Rich, N3III
