I worked Springfield for the prior drills and we
will probably be located in the ADMIN building
which is not on the high ground. The local campus
can easily be worked on the 147.285mh repeater
with low power handies which is good as the drill
is for 6 hours. We still need runners, a 145.410
interface and more importantly, licensed
communicators for field duty if necessary. Steve
and I should be able to handle the base activities
unless we get an excess of people (HI HI). But an
interface between the local administrator is
required as the radios will be located other than
in the tactical room. Also, if cell phones, power
and landline phones are out (as they were in a
previous drill) it will be necessary to have
communicators to shadow doctors, etc. other wise
there will be no local communications and I can
easily handle 410 also. An outside antenna , a few
watts and sufficient battery power is needed to
work 5.410 as demonstrated by previous drill and
repeater coverage tests. =20

If I can be of any further assistance, email or
call me.
73, Frank K3MTT

update 1

Keith,
N3GQK, Jerry here. Thanks for the info. Can I
assume SHC is Springfield hospital center???? If
this is the case, it would be most convenient for
me since, I reside in Eldersburg. I could fill in
the 3rd slot for that location. Are you at
liberty to extend any information about where we
would be situated on the grounds. I've never
operated from this location and don't know if the
ridge line just north of the complex presents
problems getting back to the repeater or not. If
you feel comfortable responding, I would greatly
appreciate any info you could provide. Also do
you happen to know which building we would be
working out of and if I could set up a tactical
mast before hand to determine what configuration I
would need during the exercise???? Again any info
would be nice to have. Call me if you care to
vice the Email. Your call

                       Thanks in advance,
                       Jerry, N3GQK
