You can view the first photos to come in from the
NS-6 high-altitude balloon mission from this past
Saturday.
It cut through Carroll County, moving nearly due
east. The balloon flight path took it right over
the world famous town of Westminster, Md!
Go to http://www.patkilroy.com/bpp/ and scroll down
to the slide show or PhotoShow (TM) link hiding
under the comm coverage area map.
The space grant schools are normally higher education
institutions (colleges, universities) but it was our
"token" high school, the Carver Center, the same ones
who beat everyone else to the payload recovery shortly
after landing, beat everyone else *again* with some
great images, from pre-launch through post-landing
and all the "near space" stuff in between.
The first photo of the series shows some students
milling about, waiting for launch. The second one
shows the Clear View High School next door, with
its football field in clear view, ...
My favorite photo of the bunch is the one taken by
their payload while descending over the Susquehanna
River, looking east to the I-95 and other bridges
that cross the river there at the top of the
Chesapeake Bay. Outrageously cool!
Things have been very busy at work. More good
stuff to report after this weekend.
Thank you for your support.
Cheers,
